On the multiplayer front, the online lobbies have some quality of life updates, including dedicated best 3 out of 5 stations. The two new combatants fit well into this roster of unique characters. There is supposed to be a continuation of that epilogue, but it is slated to be released later at an unknown time and was not available the day of this review. The story mode I praised contains a new episode of an “After Story” that follows the events of the end of Revelator but it was quite short, lasting only about 20 minutes compared to the lengthy 3~ hours of the original story. It’s something I tried out once and never had the desire to delve into again, but its inclusion is worth mentioning all the same. Luckily, every character in the roster gets some love in the form of a new move and various balance changes, but unless you’re playing at a high level, most of the changes might not even be readily apparent.Īll the modes return just the same as well, with the addition of a diorama mode where figures and backgrounds can be unlocked through the fishing (a glorified loot box mechanic), and posed in various ways to make some dramatic or amusing scenes.

While the inclusion of new characters is always welcome in my eyes, only having two set the tone for this update in general feeling a bit insubstantial.

Get GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR- (+DLC Characters) + REV 2 All-in-One (does not include optional DLCs) (basically the one for 20 bucks) It has all character DLC currently released, the other DLCs are worthless as they have no bearing on gameplay, system voices are basically like announcers but i think you can get them in game for free along with the colors.Rev 2 reintroduces a familiar face along with a new challenger.
colors and sounds(?) What are those system voices? The only dlc I think I want is Dizzy dlc. Exept REV 2 dlc are there other dlcs I sould buy? I looked ate the store page and most of them are alt. I don't think there's a reason to buy SIGN atm, also if you want to play online I think REV2 is a must as the others aren't populated.

If you ever intend to play online, you'll need Revelator and the Rev 2 DLC, since people only play Rev 2 now. Gameplay wise, it adds 2 characters and makes lots of small changes here and there. Story wise, it has 3 short movies taking place after Revelator's story mode. Single player modes were improved too, the tutorials are better and there's more stuff to do and unlock. The story is a sequel to Sign, the game includes new characters (both returning veterans and brand new characters), big changes to the gameplay for all the characters as well as system mechanics and in general it's a massive improvement over Sign in every aspect. Revelator was intended to be DLC for Sign, but it ended up being its own game. It introduced new mechanics, moves and characters, while also stripping away most of the mechanics from Accent Core. Sign was the first in the Xrd series, which began a new story that continues from Guilty Gear 2 -Overture. TLDR: "GUILTY GEAR Xrd -REVELATOR- (+DLC Characters) + REV 2 All-in-One (does not include optional DLCs)" This is the one you wanna get.
